Shane Rudd began his apprenticeship when The Gourmet Chef was founded in 2001. David Heaysman also completed his apprenticeship with The Gourmet Chef, commencing in 2002. Jasmine Heaysman began work in hospitality in 2000. Since then Shane has worked tirelessly on all types of functions and events. They have all travelled overseas, expanding their horizons within the food industry, and David and Jasmine have catered top events in Dublin, Ireland, including the Guinness 150th Anniversary, The Royal Yacht Regatta, The All-Ireland GAA Hurling Senior Championship Final Gala Dinner, and Functions for the Dublin Mayor and Ireland’s President.
In 2014, together they purchased The Gourmet Chef outright. Having been part of the team for so long, they are committed to maintaining the high standards and reputation of The Gourmet Chef.
The Gourmet Chef applies a contemporary approach to catering requirements and has gained recognition as an innovative event and corporate caterer.
The company which was started in 2001, caters in Mildura, Broken Hill, Swan Hill and all other areas within a 600km radius from Mildura.
The Gourmet Chef is passionate about serving fresh, innovative and contemporary food in any location, with special emphasis on quality local produce where appropriate.
The Gourmet Chef specialises in weddings, including buffet, sit down or finger food style events.
All venues, even remote places such as film shoots & mining sites, can be adapted to suit their catering as they are fully self sufficient with their mobile kitchens which allow for catering up to 1000 people.
Professional staff are fully qualified in all aspects of catering, food and beverage service. Food Safety Plans are standard.
